Aries Ingress 2022: The Redo

This is a redo of my 2022 Aries ingress post, wherein I used the wrong time and got some house placements wrong. That makes a pretty big difference in the chart! This chart is far less ominous than the one I drew up before, which contained some lurid speculations about 2022.

Making this chart, the biggest hurdle I encountered was dealing with the upcoming conjunction between the Sun and Neptune, which will be one of the bigger astrological events of 2022 as I understand it. After some reflection and thought, I've decided to treat Neptune as a malefic influence in this chart. Green, writing in 1914, thought that Neptune could be either a beneficial or a malefic influence. That may be the case, but I'm also aware that charts aren't read in a vacuum.

The inauguration chart for Joe Biden's presidency was quite bad per JMG's delineation, and I think I recall him mentioning that he is treating Neptune as a malefic in his readings due to his experience making mundane charts. For that reason, I'm taking the conjunction between Neptune and the Sun in the more negative interpretation in Green's text.

JMG sent out his 2022 Aries ingress chart between the completion of my chart and it's proofreading. I'm going to post mine as I completed it, warts and all. I'm happy to say that I got the bare bones of the chart correct at least!

Without further ado, here is my new and (hopefully) accurate Aries ingress chart for 2022.

This chart has Gemini, a mutable sign, on the ascendant, and is therefore good six months. Mercury is the ruler of this chart; the planet of trade and communication is in the 10th house in the sign of Pisces. Pisces is the sign of Mercury’s fall; he is not happy in Neptune’s watery domain.

The Cancer ingress will modify this chart, and then an entirely new chart will come into effect at the time of the Libra ingress in 6 months.

The Sun in this chart is represented by President Joe Biden. The Sun is located in the 10th house. Pisces is on the cusp but the Sun is in Aries, so he is intercepted in this chart and less potent. I speculate about the Sun being in the sign of Neptune’s rulership when they are coming into conjunction below.

The Moon, representing the politically influential public, is in the succeedent 5th house, which has Libra on the cusp and is therefore ruled by Venus. The 5th is the house of the stock market, speculation, the rich and famous, and the Senate.

Houses:

The 1st has Gemini on the cusp and is ruled by Mercury. The first house is the house of the ordinary people and the condition of the country; Mercury’s poor condition as house ruler may imply that there is a great deal of confusion and miscommunication in the population.

The 2nd house is the house of the national economy and trade. It has Cancer on the cusp and is therefore ruled by the Moon. The Moon makes no aspects to any other planet in this chart (aside from a square to Pluto, which is presumably not great but neither Green nor JMG consider Pluto in their charts).

The 3rd house of transportation, media, and communication has Leo on the cusp and is ruled by the Sun. The Sun is in rough shape in this chart; I expect a lot of gaffes from the head of state, and a lot of chatter about President Biden’s increasingly obvious lack of capacity. As the Sun rules this sign, the media may very continue to cover for the President in this regard.

The 4th house of mining, rural areas, and the party out of power in the country, has Virgo on the cusp and is ruled by Mercury. As mentioned above, Mercury is in his fall in Pisces. The Republicans may suffer from difficulty in their messaging and have difficulty capitalizing on the Executive branch's weaknesses.

The 5th house of speculative ventures, entertainment, the social elites, and the Senate, has Libra on the cusp and is therefore ruled by Venus. Venus is in Aquarius in this chart, cadent, intercepted, and afflicted by a conjunction with Mars and a square with Uranus. Her dignity in this chart is complicated by the fact that she is in mutual reception with Uranus (she is in Uranus ruled Aquarius, while he is in Venus ruled Taurus). This wrinkle makes it difficult for me to ascertain her exact condition in this chart. At any rate, she is still afflicted and in bad shape, so I suspect that fifth house matters will be strained and difficult.

The 6th house of public health has Scorpio on the cusp and is therefore ruled by Mars. Mars is afflicted in this chart by a square to Uranus; I wouldn’t expect public health to be great during this time.

The 7th house of foreign affairs has Sagittarius on the cusp and is ruled by Jupiter. Jupiter’s sole aspect in this chart is his conjunction with Mercury, who is in bad shape in Pisces. As Jupiter is in fair shape, issues with foreign countries may find diplomatic solutions, perhaps even in spite of our feckless head of state.

The 8th house is the house of trade and other people’s money… and, in Green’s manual, the house of public mortality and the kind of people who will die. The 8th house has Capricorn on the cusp and is therefore ruled by Saturn, the planet of harsh limits and karma. Saturn is in the 9th house, which, as noted below, can foretell high mortality amongst the older population. With Saturn ruling this house, I’d expect foreign trade to be restricted and poor, perhaps due to continued issues with overseas supply chains.

The 9th house of the judiciary has Aquarius on the cusp and is ruled by Uranus. Uranus is in weird condition due to his mutual reception with Venus; in his fall in Taurus, he is better dignified in this chart than he has been of late. There are three planets here in the 9th house, meaning there will be a focus on the judicial branch. Venus and Mars are conjunct here, and both of them are squaring off with the house ruler, Uranus. Saturn is also in this house.

Venus here in the 9th is afflicted by conjunction to Mars, and is square to Uranus. Green indicates this can be bad for shipping, and her square to Uranus implies dissatisfaction between societal classes. Mars in the 9th is also squaring Uranus, which can also indicate problems with shipping and deaths amongst people in the religious, legal, and science fields. Saturn in the 9th also indicates problems with shipping and deaths amongst the elderly population.

The 9th is also the house of the Judiciary, so I’d expect some serious and impactful rulings from the Supreme Court. With Venus, ruler of women’s issues, in this house, it may relate to Roe v Wade coming up for review. There will almost certainly be a fight over President Biden’s inevitable Supreme Court pick to replace Justice Breyer, who is retiring from the court in June (provided he lives that long, of course).

The 10th house of the Executive branch has Pisces on the cusp and is ruled by Neptune. There are four planets here in the 10th, meaning there will be a big focus on the executive branch. The Sun is in this house, where he is traditionally strong, but he is intercepted in Aquarius, which weakens him. He is somewhat loosely conjunct Neptune, an aspect that will perfect later. For reasons mentioned above, I am taking this is as a malefic placement. Green indicates this can foretell the Executive losing power and popularity, with a loss of national prestige. It can also indicate scandal and disgrace. As Neptune can indicate confusion and madness, I am speculating that this may represent a further decline in President Biden’s mental prowess. This may become stronger as the conjunction becomes closer to being exact.

Mercury is in the 10th house, which may indicate the President will be traveling a fair amount during this time. He may hit the trail and stump for candidates for the upcoming midterms and try to rehabilitate his public image; Mercury’s poor condition here suggests this will not be hugely successful. Mercury is given some support by a conjunction with Jupiter, however; his expansiveness may indicate that, while these efforts will be unsuccessful, there may be a lot of them.

Jupiter is also here in the 10th house, which can indicate some good news for the Executive branch and for the nation’s prosperity. At this point, I have no idea how that may manifest. Maybe if Joe wanders far and wide for the next six months and gets out of the basement and away from his weird White House set, he will get a clue about how his constituents view him and change course in a more moderate direction.

Neptune is in the 10th, which he rules. Green indicates this can foretell the Executive losing power and popularity, with a loss of national prestige. It can also indicate scandal and disgrace.
As if that wasn’t bad enough, Neptune’s conjunction with the Sun here in the 10th can indicate collapse, downfall, dishonesty, and political instability, and deception. This may become stronger as the conjunction becomes closer to being exact and is probably the most significant feature of this chart. As Neptune can indicate confusion and madness, I am speculating that this may represent a further decline in President Biden’s mental prowess.

The 11th house of the legislature and House of Representatives has Aries on the cusp and is ruled by Mars. As Mars is afflicted by his square to Uranus (although given some strength by his conjunction with Venus), I’d expect tensions in the house to run hot, and for there to be unexpected crises plaguing the lower Legislative branch. Uranus's presence here indicates difficulties in passing legislation or reform, and proceedings may be disrupted in some fashion.

The 12th house of institutions has Taurus on the cusp and is ruled by Venus. Venus is conjunct Mars and square Uranus and so is in bad shape, made weirder in some way by the mutual reception with Uranus. I'd expect some oddities in the country's institutions and hospitals but I'm not sure how that will manifest at this time.

If you made it through all that without your eyes glazing over, congratulations! I'm still figuring out how to write these up while keeping them readable and sufficiently informative. Here are some official predictions for the six months covered by the ingress. I'd advise against taking my chart too terribly seriously, if you were inclined to do so :)

There will be a focus on the judiciary and executive branch, with President Biden's mental collapse becoming more evident as the Sun/Neptune conjunction becomes closer to perfecting, causing serious issues for the executive branch by Summer. His efforts to help Democrats on the campaign trail and woo voters to his agenda will be unsuccessful at best. There will be a fight over whoever Biden picks to replace Justice Breyer. Expect excess mortality for the elderly, and for some prominent older people in the religious, legal, or science fields to perish. Problems with foreign trade and supply line issues with foreign goods will continue due to Saturn in the 9th. The workings of the House of Representatives may be disrupted in some unexpected fashion and partisan divides will heat up even more.

Whew. This stuff makes my brain hurt a bit. I'll see how my predictions for this chart are playing out when I post the Cancer ingress chart in three months; I'm also going to use this as a frame for interpreting later New Moon charts each month after this ingress chart takes effect in March.
