New Moon in Pisces 2020 Mundane Chart Results

Below in red are my observations on the New Moon in Pisces chart I cast last month. I was unexpectedly busy at the end of this month and didn't cast a chart for the New Moon in Aries that occurred a couple of days ago; I may still delineate a chart and post it tomorrow or Tuesday. A few of my interpretations were off and I didn't follow the news as obsessively this month, but overall the chart seemed apt enough.

The Moon, which rules the 1st and 2nd houses of the common people and the economy generally, is conjunct Jupiter, the Greater Benefic, and trine Uranus, which gives her some strength, although she’s in the cadent 9th house. The common people and the economy may be in slightly better shape this month (this seems counter-intuitive to me but that’s how I’m understanding the chart so I’m going to let it ride).

Although inflation has continued, gas prices have at least leveled out and the political classes are increasingly making noises about helping the commoners. Since the two main parties are at odds about what will help the economy, not a lot has been done.

The third house of the media, communication, and transport has Leo on the cusp and is ruled by the Sun. The Sun is weak in Aquarius and in the cadent 9th, although he benefits from his conjunction with Jupiter. I’m thinking Biden may actually get his State of the Union bump in approval ratings (again, this seems counter-intuitive because I like Biden as much as I like the feeling of stepping in a puddle  of cold vomit the morning after an epic bender, but here we are).

Biden got a modest State of the Union address bounce in his approval ratings, but it has cooled back off. The media is still covering for him quite a bit, but thorny questions about his son’s laptop and family corruption have been making it into the mainstream media.

The fourth house of agriculture, mining, and the party out of power has Virgo on the cusp and is ruled by Mercury, who is in Aquarius in the 9th house.  Mercury is seriously afflicted by a conjunction with Saturn in the 9th. The Republicans can expect restrictions and trouble with messaging this month; this could represent a defeat in the courts.

The Republicans in general seem to be gaining in popularity amongst the general public. Insofar as he is the leader of the Republican party to an extent, Donald Trump is still having trouble getting his messages out to the masses since he has been booted off from social media; his frequent claims of election fraud don’t seem to be doing much to convince anyone who isn’t already convinced.

The fifth house of the rich and famous, the entertainment industry, and the Senate has Libra on the cusp and is ruled by Venus. Venus is afflicted by a conjunction with Mars who is in the 8th house of foreign money, corruption, graft, and death. The Senate may be rocked by some scandals related to corruption.

The slap heard around the world happened at the Oscars this month and was a heavy focus of media attention, spawning memes and blog posts and commentary galore. The Senate doesn’t seem any more, or less, corrupt than it ever was.

The sixth house of public health, the working class, and the military has Sagittarius on the cusp and is ruled by Jupiter.  Jupiter is conjunct the Sun and Moon but is combust and also placed in the cadent 9th. I’m speculating that this will foretell an expansion of troops and equipment in Europe ordered by the executive branch to deal with the crisis in Ukraine.

The US seems committed to arming Ukraine and has been sending equipment to the area. Public health in the country seems okay; Covid has taken a backseat to other concerns for a time.

The seventh house of foreign affairs has Capricorn on the cusp and is ruled by Saturn. Saturn is in Aquarius and is conjunct Mercury, giving him some strength. This could indicate that tensions between the US and Russia may be eased by some diplomatic efforts.

This unfortunately hasn’t happened and the US is committed to serious sanctions on Russia, which is basically causing the Western world to cut off its nose to spite its face. The restrictions (Saturn) on trade (Mercury) are obviously how this played out.

Venus is in the seventh. Afflicted by her conjunction with Mars, this can indicate tension and anxiety in foreign affairs. This likely relates to Putin’s aggression in the Ukraine, which has serious geopolitical implications. Although weakened by conjunction with Mars, she is given strength by placement in the angular 7th, which gives some hope for diplomatic efforts.

The situation politically has indeed been fraught, but so far the fighting in Ukraine hasn’t spilled over into other countries or directly involved US troops.

The eighth house of public mortality, corruption, graft, and foreign money has Capricorn on the cusp and is ruled by Saturn. This could indicate discussion of sanctions and trade in relation to the war in the Ukraine.

This has been a thing.

Mars is in the eighth; the planet of war is exalted in Capricorn and given strength by his conjunction with Venus. Ominously, in Green’s manual Mars in the 8th can portend the deaths of soldiers.  It may, in this case, be indicative of financial sanctions being an effective weapon.

The sanctions do seem to be harming Russia, but they are also hurting everyone dependent on Russian exports as well. No American soldiers have been put in harm’s way.

The ninth house of the Judiciary, religion, universities, and long-distance shipping has Aquarius on the cusp and is ruled by Uranus. There are five planets in this house, meaning there will be a huge national focus on 9th house affairs for the duration of this New Moon chart. Uranus is in his fall in Taurus but is strengthened by a trine to both the Sun and the Moon. Expect disruptions and difficulty in 9th house matters. Although the media hasn’t been focused on it much, I wonder if the American trucker convoy may make more of a splash than I currently expect it to, causing disruptions and unexpected problems.

The trucker convoy didn’t do much of anything; I had to really go out of my way to find any coverage of it at all.

The New Moon conjunction of Sun and Moon in the 9th indicates a focus on this house in national focus. The conjunction of the Sun and Jupiter here can indicate some positive development for the Head of State regarding the judiciary; this could relate to Biden’s Supreme Court pick.

Biden’s Supreme Court pick has proven controversial for his political adversaries. Her stance on sentencing consumers of child pornography and refusal to define “woman” have given ammunition to critics who think she is too liberal to sit on the Supreme Court.

The Moon in the 9th can involve court cases involving workers or some benefit to shipping. The Moon’s conjunction to Jupiter gives her some strength as well.  Her trine to Uranus is an aspect favorable to state affairs.

Mercury in the 9th means that the law courts will be active, while his conjunction with Saturn is a bad aspect that disturbs trade and supply routes, discount and strikes, fraud, theft, and mental disease, and hindered legislation.

Problems with trade and supply routes have been routine.

Jupiter in the 9th can be good for Churches and the Courts.

I didn’t see anything confirming or disconfirming this.

Saturn in the 9th can indicate disruptions and restrictions in trade and shipping.

Yes.

The tenth house of the executive branch has Pisces on the cusp and is ruled by Neptune. Neptune, who rules Pisces, is strong here in this house.  Neptune in the 10th foretells an increase in the power of the people; how this will manifest frankly I have no idea.

The portion of the populace who doesn’t care for the Biden administration is getting pretty vocal about it, and governors like DeSantis and Abbott are pushing back pretty aggressively against his policies.

The eleventh house of the lower legislature has Aries on the cusp and so is ruled by Mars. Mars is in his exaltation in Capricorn and is strengthened by a conjunction with Venus. Uranus, the planet of disruption, is in his fall in Taurus in this house. Expect a volatile and angry legislature; in addition to the heavy acrimony between parties, there could be some intra-party conflict as well.

There are fractures growing in the Democrat party, with moderates trying to distance themselves from extremists and the President in hopes of saving their political careers.

The twelfth house of prisons, asylums, hospitals, and bureaucracies has Gemini on the cusp and is ruled by Mercury. Seriously afflicted by his conjunction with Saturn, bureaucracies and national institutions may suffer from a lot of bad press and scuttlebutt during this period.

A lot of things that have been censored and covered up (Covid-19 vaccination side effects, the Biden family’s corruption, the way the press and social media shut down the Biden laptop story until after the election, and corporate and school boards pushing extreme agendas on children) are coming to light, and average Americans who don’t follow non-mainstream media sources are getting a look at what people on the fringes have known for a long time.
