I owe a lot of my perspectives of the world to the framework of JMG's teachings. That's at least partially because I had tentatively reached some of the same conclusions on at least a few topics before I discovered his work and it resonated with me, but he's also SHARP. When he described the myth of Progress, it was a real aha moment.
So when you look at the whole Covid/Vaccine thing from a religious perspective, it makes more sense. The gods of Progress aren't delivering anymore because things are obviously getting progressively crappier, and the pandemic was a straw too many for the groaning back of the proverbial camel. When you have that, the faithful ask why their gods have forsaken them.
The high priests of progress (Fauci is the Grand High Priest of the religion at the moment, obviously) look at "THE DATA" and find instructions for what we must do to appease the gods and get our shiny future back, like a priest of old found answers in a mess of animal guts. That they have to massage the actual scientific data in innumerable ways in order to make it conform to their narrative doesn't really matter, because it's not rational, it's a religion.
The answer they've found is a new sacrament, a Holy Vaccine that will please the gods (and the priesthood).
Well, a bunch of us are refusing the new sacraments, the holy vaccines that will get progress back on track and get everything back to "normal". The fact that they are untested in a true scientific sense doesn't matter, because "We BELIEVE in Science" is the mantra, not "we PRACTICE science".
Those of us who have turned our back on the religion are heretics, unclean in the eyes of the faithful. Traditionally, we would be the very reason the gods have turned their backs on us! When this happens historically, it doesn't usually go very well for the heretics. You can see this in the way the faithful are currently marginalizing and dehumanizing us, making us scapegoats, projecting their shadows onto us. Their unhealthy fixation on Nazis and Fascism is concerning, because you imitate what you contemplate, after all.
Isn't fascism basically coordination between business and government interests in order to impose a form of government on people? Isn't that, you know, kind of what's happening with the party that's always braying about fascism and Nazis? It doesn't make sense, but humans aren't rational you know.
One of the first things I learned in psychology class was that fear reroutes information from the prefrontal cortex, where rational thought happens, to the more primitive limbic system, where our animal instincts are dominant. The media has been screaming BE AFRAID for years now. The ones who are hiding in their homes have been terrified for literal years, first of Trump then of a trumped-up virus.
When you're sick and something is wrong with you, you go to the doctor and they fix you up, usually with a shot. No one likes getting shots, but we have learned to associate health with injections. People just want the doctor-priests to give them a shot and fix everything that's gone wrong. It's a fundamentally childish view of the world, and we've been infantilized, regressed into a childish state by the abject terror of the collapse of our entire worldview.
We look at the medical practices of yesteryear with a condescending, patronizing horror, never realizing that people of the uncomfortably near future will be looking back on this moment with a similar horrified awe.
