Oddly I was accused of being cynical as a young man, but I now realize I was amazingly naive.
Same here -- I've been accused of being cynical for a long time but it's only recently that I've realized past-Monstrous was incredibly naive.
I was the kid protesting the rigged/stolen election between Bush & Kerry. I fully believed rigged elections could and would happen in the USA, but I also believed it would only happen in favour of ousting Democrats, not Republicans. I had full BDS, & didn't see that it's not a left vs right problem. It's an elites vs we puny peasants problem.
As embarrassing as my past-self is, it's been useful -- helped me see 2020 was certainly rigged (though now I'm less sure on 2004).
I was spurred to write this essay because I recently read an article about the majority of Americans now regarding the press as being the enemies of the people.
Well it's about time they realized that. I only wish we could get the majority of Canadians to realize the same thing. Only moreso, as our press is literally gov't-funded (ie, gov't-controlled), and independent press gets shut out and silenced by the PTB.
But getting the majority of Canadians to realize that would also mean realizing our country is fast-becoming a Communist regime, if it's not one already. And there's no hope of that. (Let's hope my ISP lets me post this.)
