It appears that our Democrat Lords and Masters are declaring victory over the Coronavirus. I suspect that President Biden will wait (or try to wait) until his State of the Union to announce a Federal change in Covid policies. Slowly but surely, the media is starting to admit what many of us have been saying all along, that masking and lockdowns and all of the mitigation strategies employed by the government were both pointless and incredibly harmful. I expect the blame for the lockdowns and useless policies to be a hot potato all the way through 2024. The frantic backpedaling and gaslighting of our political classes will doubtless be something to behold.
I have mixed feelings about this. On one hand, I will welcome the end of Covid-related restrictions, media lies and distortions on the topic, and pressure to become a lab rat for the industrial-pharmaceutical complex. On the other hand, the bastards are trying to get away with it, and I think they should be held accountable.
In 2019, if I was forced to apply a label to my political beliefs, I'd have said I was a left-leaning Independent. Now... the Democrat party has about as much appeal to me as the National Socialist party, and I trust them about as much as I'd trust a Nazi. Their decent into totalitarian madness has been instructive to say the least; you really do end up imitating what you contemplate. The Democrat party is now the party of censorship, segregation, bigotry, judgement of others based on skin color, state control over one's medical decisions, promotion of violence and thuggery in the streets, war-mongering, and authoritarian rule.
This doesn't mean I've embraced the Republicans; far from it. I will, however, be voting for them until the current crop of Democrats have been removed entirely from power. Hopefully that won't take long.
As we hopefully begin moving into a post-pandemic future, my eyes have been opened. Ideologies are meaningless to most people, to be cast aside at the first sign of trouble. Most of the liberals I knew, for example, were all in favor of freedom of speech, until dissenting voices disagreed with their positions, then they insisted that they be silenced. The Democrats and Marxists don't want to dismantle the hierarchies they hate, they just want to get their hands on the levers of power themselves.
I don't know what the end result of all of this will be. A big unknown is how deleterious and widespread the side effects from the "vaccine" will be; they are becoming more evident and at some point the media and political classes will have to acknowledge them, even if they put it off as long as possible. The "side effects" of our ill-thought out attempts to manage what can't be managed may actually be the end of the Professional-Managerial Class, which would be pretty amusing if it hadn't brought so much needless pain and suffering to so many human beings.
The Coronapanic may be over, but the end of Faustian culture and the Myth of Progress has just begun.
