Watching modern liberals nowadays, I am forcefully reminded of toddlers throwing huge tantrums. This isn’t restricted to the rank and file liberal loonies; even the “leaders” of the party seem to have grown quite unhinged and incapable of managing their anger and emotions in a way that civilized adults arguably should. Here I am thinking of a very old, used up looking Elizabeth Warren almost shaking with rage because the Supreme Court is looking to reverse a ruling on one of her pet causes.
Trying to shift public opinion via tantrums (more-or-less threatening to riot and run amok in the form of “peaceful protests” that are no longer very peaceful) has become the go-to move of the radical left. Ironically, they level accusations that their political opponents on the right are violent insurrectionists, while never taking a hard look in the mirror at their own behavior.
The latest leftist tantrums over abortion are incredibly rich from my perspective, because the same party who tried to take away the health rights of a minority population and force them to get a medical procedure they didn’t want is now upset because they feel their bodily sovereignty is being attacked. Pardon me if I am less than sympathetic to their arguments and emotional gyrations, especially since these are the same assholes who tried to inflict poverty and segregation on me and mine for making a medical decision they didn’t like.
As a former liberal and Democrat voter (although those times are receding into the distant past where they clearly belong), I have zero sympathy for any of the emotional upheavals and fears shaking the liberals of America right now. They’ve courted it and now all the winds they’ve sown have grown into whirlwinds. When kids throw a tantrum, they can either be coddled or put in their place. It’s time for the adults to put these pushy, cranky, spoiled little brats down for a little nappy nap.
